ABSU Postgraduate Admission Requirements

To be eligible for any of the PG programs at Abia State University, candidates must meet the following criteria:

Postgraduate Diploma (PGD)

• Graduates from recognized universities or those with equivalent qualifications may apply.
• Candidates with Upper Credit in HND from a recognized institution are also eligible.

Master’s Degree (M.Sc)

• A first degree (minimum of second class lower) from a recognized university is required.
• Candidates with a CGPA of 2.4 (on a 4-point scale) or 2.7 (on a 5-point scale) and above will be given preference.

Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D)

• Candidates must have a good Master’s degree (MPhil/Ph.D) with a minimum CGPA of 3.0 on a 4-point scale or 4.0 on a 5-point scale.
• Candidates with lower CGPA will be required to pursue an MPhil before a Ph.D.
• Selection tests and interviews may be required.
