AKSU Admission Requirements

All candidates hoping to apply for admission at AKSU must meet all the requirements below depending on their mode of entry.

Admission Requirements for UTME Candidates:

You need to score at least the minimum required mark set by the university in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). Additionally, you must have at least five credit passes in relevant subjects, including English Language, from either WAEC, NECO, or other recognized exams. These credits must be obtained in no more than two sittings.

Admission Requirements for Direct Entry Candidates:

For those applying through Direct Entry, you must first meet the same basic admission requirements as UTME candidates. Additionally, you must have one of the following:-

  • HSC/GCE Advanced Level: At least two passes at the advanced level in Chemistry, Biology or Agricultural Science, Physics, or Mathematics.
  • OND/NCE: If you have an Ordinary National Diploma (OND) with at least a Lower Credit or a National Certificate in Education (NCE) with Merit, you may be admitted into the second year of study. However, you must also have the required O’level qualifications and will complete the rest of the 5-year program.
  • HND Candidates: Those with a Higher National Diploma (HND) with a minimum of Lower Credit can also gain admission into the second year but will not be required to undergo the one-year field practical training.
