Entry Requirements for UNILAG Part-Time Degree Program

The application process consists of two stages: JAMB and DLI UNILAG. To qualify, candidates must meet at least one of the following requirements:

  • Candidates must fulfill the minimum entry requirements of five (5) credits in SSCE/GCE/NECO O’ Level, which must include English Language and Mathematics, achieved in no more than two sittings.
  • Candidates aiming for admission into Year Two should hold any of the following qualifications: NCE, ND (minimum of Lower Credit), JUPEP, IJMB, or GCE A’ Levels in relevant subjects.
  • For admission into Year Three, candidates must possess either an HND (minimum of Lower Credit), a Bachelor’s degree (minimum of Third Class), and proof of NYSC Certificate, Exemption, or Exclusion Certificate. Candidates with relevant Professional Qualifications such as ICAN, ACA, ACIB, ANAN, ACCA, ACMA, ACIS, CII, CIBN, and ACIA are also eligible to apply for Year Three.
  • Candidates awaiting results are not eligible for admission.
  • Applicants for the Distance Learning Institute programs must be at least 16 years old. Admission is available to all candidates, regardless of any learning disabilities or challenges.
  • Candidates are expected to have basic ICT skills to effectively navigate the ICT Enabled Supported Blended Learning Model (IESBL) of the ODL mode.

How to Apply for UNILAG Part-Time Admission Form

  • Log in to the JAMB CAPS website and register.
  • Pay N3,500 to obtain a JAMB registration number at any JAMB-approved CBT center.
    (No UTME exam is required.)
  • Visit the UNILAG application portal: applications.unilag.edu.ng.
  • Click “Start Fresh Application”.
  • Select (DLI) Distance Learning Institute as the application type and provide the information required.
  • Click on “Pay Now” to pay the processing fee of N17,500 or print the payment advice with Remita Number to pay at any bank within UNILAG.
  • Return to the application portal and click “Continue application.”
  • Enter your payment reference number and your surname (in lowercase) as your password.
  • Fill out the application form with the required details.
  • Scan and upload necessary documents.
  • Proofread and Submit.
  • Print out two copies or save the application form for later editing if needed.
  • Submit one hard copy of the completed form (in color) to the relevant department or the sandwich office for Faculty of Education programs.

Information on Entrance Examination for UNILAG Part-Time Programs

All applicants must participate in an entrance examination covering English Language and General Paper. For Management Sciences, Mathematics is also included. Candidates should arrive by 7:45 AM with a color print of their application forms.

Admission letters will be available for collection two weeks after the entrance examination and the date for the qualifying examination will be communicated through the DLI website and via text messages to candidates.
