Ahmadu Bello University Postgraduate Admission Requirements

To apply for postgraduate programs at ABU, Candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Candidates must possess a minimum of five relevant O’ Level credits, which should include English Language and Mathematics. These O’ Level results can be combined with A’ Level qualifications such as IJMB, HND, HSC, or NCE, and can be obtained from no more than two examination sittings.
  • Candidates holding an HND with at least an Upper Credit typically cannot apply for a Master’s program unless they also have an additional qualification, such as a Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) in the same or a related area.
  • Candidates who possess a Third Class degree may still be eligible for admission if they have relevant additional qualifications, such as a Postgraduate Diploma (PGD), and/or a minimum of five years of recognized work experience.
