FUTA Pre-Degree Admission Criteria/Requirements

To gain admission into the Federal University of Technology Akure Pre-Degree Science Programme, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Candidates must have at least five credit passes in subjects like English Language, Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry, and one other relevant subject achieved in two sittings. The additional subject could be from:
  • • Biology or Agricultural Science
    • Government, Accounting, Economics, Food, and Nutrition, or Geography.
• A pass in Physics is acceptable only for candidates applying for the following departments:

    • Crop Soil and Pest Management
• A pass in Chemistry is only acceptable for candidates applying for Architecture.
• Post-Programme Admission into University: To be considered for admission into the university’s undergraduate programs after completing the PDS, candidates must:
• Apply for JAMB Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
• Choose FUTA as their first choice.
• Achieve a minimum of 50% aggregate score in the final PDS examination.
• Meet the required JAMB UTME score and fulfill FUTA’s University Admission Committee (UAC) criteria.

Duration of the Programme

The Pre-Degree Science Programme lasts for one academic session, which consists of two semesters.

How to Apply for FUTA Pre-Degree Admission Form 2024

Candidates interested in applying to FUTA can do that successfully by following the steps below:

• Visit the FUTA Application Portal at https://firars.futa.edu.ng/app/welcome/admissions and click on “Create Account Here.”
• Choose the program you are applying for (e.g., PDS/UABS).
• After creating your account, log in to your dashboard using your username and password.
• Click on “Payment” to generate an application invoice with a Transaction ID or Invoice Number. This code (RRR for Remita Payment) will be used for payment.
• Pay a fee of N20,000 using the generated RRR code at any bank or online via the Remita platform. You can also pay directly using your ATM card on the Remita website.
• After payment, log in to confirm and complete your application form.
• Submit your completed application and print the Acknowledgement/Screening Schedule Slip.
• If eligible, print your Admission Letter and pay your school fees through the Remita payment process.
