The information shared in this article applies to Batch A, B, and C PCMs.

What You Need To Know About NYSC Registration Portal 2024

The NYSC registration portal is currently open for registrations. All interested persons are to visit the NYSC registration portal at www.portal.nysc.org.ng to apply.

If you are a PCM, it is important to learn about the registration process to acclimatize yourself with it pending when you are ready to apply. You must have seen the acronym PCMs a few times in this post, this acronym means prospective corps members.

This term is used to describe any graduate who has completed an undergraduate program and is ready to take part in the mandatory one-year National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program in Nigeria.

How Much is the NYSC Registration Form?

When you are ready to register for NYSC, you should budget about Five Thousand Naira (N5000). The NYSC registration fee is Three Thousand Naira(N3,000) and the rest will be used to settle the operators at the cyber who will assist you in registering for NYSC.

Now that you have learned about the cost of applying for NYSC, let us look at the requirements for the registration for both locally-trained and foreign-trained PCMs.

Requirements For NYSC Registration 2024

Before you proceed to register for NYSC, these are the requirements you must meet. These requirements apply to all NYSC batches and streams.

  • Candidates must have completed their tertiary education at an accredited institution either in Nigeria or abroad.
  • They should be at least 18 years old but not older than 30.
  • A valid form of identification, such as a national ID card or passport, is required.
  • Candidates must also have a clean criminal record.

Required Documents For NYSC Registration (Locally Trained PCMs)

When registering for NYSC, applicants are usually requested to upload some documents to verify their eligibility. Below is a complete list of those documents:-

  • Statement of result for your B.Sc. or HND.
  • ID card.
  • Recent passport-sized photograph.
  • Medical fitness certificate.
  • NCDC COVID-19 RDT testing verification slip.
  • Medical report from a government or state hospital if you have any health conditions.

Married PCMs are to submit the following:-

  • Marriage certificate for married individuals.
  • Proof of name change and evidence of your spouses (For married women)
  • A valid ID card of your spouse, such as a national ID card or passport.
  • A letter from your spouse’s employer.

Required Documents for Foreign-Trained Graduates

Provide original and photocopies of these documents. Also ensure that you don’t submit downloaded certificates, transcripts, statements of results, and attestation letters.

  1. You need to present your first university degree or HND certificate.
  2. A complete official transcript of your first degree or HND course is required.
  3. If you studied at an Indian university, a marksheet must be included.
  4. This includes WASC, GCE, SSCE, NECO, IGCSE, GCSE, or a high school diploma for those who studied in the USA. Note that online printouts of results are not acceptable.
  5. Candidates must have at least five credits, including English and Mathematics, in no more than two sittings.
  6. If you did a TOP-UP program, you must upload your foundation certificate (e.g., APTECH, OND, NIIT, INFORMATICS, etc.).
  7. Health Professionals’ Documentation: Medical doctors, optometrists, pharmacists, nurses, medical laboratory scientists, radiographers, physiotherapists, and other health-related professionals must provide their registration certificates and practicing licenses from relevant authorities. Pharmacists should also include an oath and a letter of introduction from the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria.

Your Nigerian international passport must clearly show:-

  • An entry visa to the country where you studied.
  • The date of your first departure from Nigeria or the date you first entered the country of study.
  • The date you returned to Nigeria after your studies.
  • The data pages of all international passports used during your studies.

Graduates with dual nationality must upload the data pages of both international passports and present them for verification at the orientation camp.

Make sure you have all these documents ready and properly organized to ensure a smooth registration process.

How to Register Via The NYSC Registration Portal

If you have verified that you have all the documents that apply to you, these are the steps you can follow to apply for the program.

  • Go to the NYSC registration portal.
  • Click on “Registration for Mobilization (The batch and stream you’re applying for will be indicated)”
  • Fill out the registration/biodata form.
  • Thumbprint and capture your biometrics.
  • Upload a clear passport photograph with a white or off-white background.
  • Upload your scanned signature.
  • Upload all necessary certificates and documents.
  • Preview your registration form to ensure all details are correct.
  • Click “I Agree” to accept the registration terms and conditions.
  • Click “Submit” and pay the registration fee.
  • Print your COVID-19 slip and green card within 24 hours.

NYSC Remobilization Process

If you were mobilized in previous batches and completed the online registration but could not attend the Orientation Camp, you have the option to apply for remobilization. You can visit the NYSC registration portal and click on the remobilization option. Enter your State Code, call-up number, and email address as requested. Follow the instructions provided to complete your registration revalidation.

Notice For Foreign-Trained PCMs

First things first. Foreign-trained PCMs are those who graduated from institutions outside of Nigeria. If you are a Foreign-trained PCM who previously registered but was not selected for service in the last batch should log into the NYSC portal to validate your registration again. They will not have to pay the N3,000 registration fee a second time.

If you wish to be excluded from service, you need to present your original academic credentials and international passport at the National Directorate Headquarters in Abuja for verification before you can print your Exclusion Letters. Those requesting a Certificate of Exemption must also bring these documents when collecting their certificate at the headquarters.

How To Correct Common Mistakes When Registering For NYSC

If you make a mistake maybe with the spelling of your name or you put the wrong course of study, here is how you can correct it.

  • Log into the NYSC portal.
  • Click on the option for corrections you want to make, such as “Apply for Name Correction” or “Correction of Course of Study.”
  • Enter the required information in the provided fields.
  • Click on “Place Request” to submit your corrections.
  • Wait for the system to process and approve your request for changes.

Note: Prospective corps members must not register through someone else (by proxy). It is important to remember the fingers used for biometric capturing, as these will be needed for verification at the orientation camps.
