The Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB) is a national exam body in Nigeria, approved by the government in December 2013 and officially set up in April 2014. It was created by a group of ten universities, with the University of Lagos leading the initiative. It conducts exams for students who have completed at least one year of approved foundation or diploma courses at universities undergoing the program and aims for a Direct Entry admission into the second year (200 level).

Interim Joint Matriculation Board (IJMB) is offered by various centers across Nigeria. It is a 9-month program that helps students gain direct admission into the second year (200 Level) of the university. It is for those with O’level results (or awaiting results) and is a good option for students who have struggled with JAMB or past university admissions. The Basic Studies programs are aimed at preparing students for exams organized by the Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB) and the Interim Joint Matriculation Board Examinations (IJMBE).

UNIUYO JUPEB/IJMB Admission Requirements

The criteria needed to apply for the JUPEB and IJMB UNIUYO admissions for the 2024/2025 academic session are as follows:

• Applicants must have at least five (5) credit passes, including English Language, Mathematics, and three (3) other relevant subjects from SSCE/WASCE, GCE O/L, NECO, or NABTEB obtained in no more than two sittings.
• Admission is through a University Screening Test, which will be computer-based (CBT). Register for the University Screening Test (CBT).
• Successful candidates will be admitted to the 200 level of various degree programs at the University of Uyo or other Nigerian universities through JAMB, provided they meet the specific criteria for their chosen program.
• Candidates do not need a JAMB score to apply for this program and applicants who are taking the 2024 UTME can still apply.
• There will be no additional application process for this program.

Steps to Apply for the UNIUYO JUPEB/IJMB Admission Form 2024

Eligible candidates need to pay a non-refundable fee for Basic Studies (for IJMB and JUPEB programs) N15,500. The steps below will guide you to register:

• Visit the University of Uyo official website at www.uniuyo.edu.ng and click on the “e-portals” link.
• Choose the Basic Studies link and click on “Create Account.”
• Fill in your correct details and click the Create Account button.
• Click on Make Payment.
• Select either the Bank Option or Card Option for payment.
• Click on Generate e-invoice (for the bank option) or Online Payment (for the card option).
• For the bank option, print the e-invoice to pay at a bank branch.
• For the card option, choose the payment type, enter your card details, and click Pay.
• After payment (via bank or card), return to the portal, click on the Login Form, and enter your Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) number to complete the registration.

Important Notes

• The same passport photo used during registration will be used for the Screening Exercise and registration if you are offered admission.
• After submission, no corrections will be allowed for wrong biodata or missing photographs.
• Candidates who upload incorrect information will be automatically disqualified.
• The same process is used for paying any fees after admission.
