Available Program Durations

These programs are full-time and the duration for UNIUYO postgraduate programs is as follows:

• Master’s Degree takes at least 2 years (4 semesters) to complete, but candidates can finish in up to 3 years (6 semesters).
• PhD Programme: This takes at least 3 years (6 semesters) and can be completed in up to 5 years (10 semesters).
• PGD in Education: You can finish in 1 year (2 semesters), but the maximum time allowed is 2 years (4 semesters).
• PGD in Educational Technology: It also takes at least 1 year (2 semesters), but the maximum time is 2 years (4 semesters).
• PGD in Engineering: It takes at least 2 years (4 semesters), with a maximum of 3 years (6 semesters).
• PGD in other fields: You can complete it in at least 1 year (2 semesters), but no more than 2 years (4 semesters).

UNIUYO Postgraduate Admission Requirements

Here are the general admission criteria for UNIUYO Postgraduate Programs:

Postgraduate Diploma (PGD):

• A first degree from UNIUYO or any recognized university.
• Or a Higher National Diploma (HND) from a recognized institution.

Master’s Degree:

• A first degree from UNIUYO or any recognized university.
• At least a Second Class Honours degree.

Master’s in Medical Microbiology:

• A degree in Microbiology, Virology, Postgraduate Diploma in Microbiology, or an MBBS (or equivalent) degree.

Master’s in Public Health:

• An MBBS degree and full registration with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).

PhD Program:

• A Master’s degree with at least a 60% (B) average score.

Additional Requirements:

Candidates must possess:

• Five credit passes in relevant subjects, including English Language (max. two sittings).
• For Law programs, credit passes in English Literature are needed.
• Faculty of Agriculture applicants must have credit passes in Chemistry.
• NYSC Certificate (Discharge, Exemption, or Exclusion) is required.
• Proof of remedial subjects if applicable (through WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB).
• Transcripts and reference letters are mandatory.

Steps to Apply for UNIUYO Postgraduate Admission for 2024/2025

To apply for the UNIUYO postgraduate admission, applicants need to:

• Go to the official UNIUYO e-portal at http://eportals.uniuyo.edu.ng and select the “Admission Forms” link.
• Pay N20,000 using the Remita payment system with an ATM card online or at any bank nationwide.
• After payment, return to the portal, click on the “Register” link, and enter your payment reference number (RRR).
• Fill in your correct details (name, phone number, email) and submit the form. After registration, you will receive login details to access and finish your application.
