UNIUYO Postgraduate Admission Requirements 2024/2025

Now that you have checked and seen all the postgraduate courses offered by the School of Postgraduate Studies at Uniuyo, it’s time to review the requirements for the program or PG course you prefer. Make sure to check the specific eligibility criteria to ensure you meet the necessary qualifications before applying.

Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) Program:

  • You must have a first degree from the University of Uyo or any other university recognized by the Senate of the University of Uyo.
  • If you have a Higher National Diploma (HND) from a recognized institution, you may also be eligible.

Master’s Degree Program

  • You must have a first degree from the University of Uyo or any other recognized university.
  • You need at least a Second Class Honours degree (irrespective of your CGPA).

Master’s Degree in Medical Microbiology:

  • You should have a degree in Microbiology or virology, a Postgraduate Diploma in Microbiology (PGDM), or an MBBS degree (or equivalent).

Master’s Degree in Public Health

  • You must have an MBBS degree and a full registration with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).

PhD Program

  • You must hold a Master’s degree with a dissertation and an overall average score of at least 60% (B) from the University of Uyo or any other recognized university.

Additional Admission Requirements

  • All applicants must have five credit passes in relevant subjects, including English Language, obtained at no more than two sittings.
  • For Law programs (LLM and PhD in Law), applicants must have credit passes in English Literature as one of their five relevant subjects.
  • Faculty of Agriculture applicants must have credit passes in Chemistry.
  • All candidates must present their NYSC Certificate (Discharge Certificate, Exemption Certificate, or Exclusion Certificate).
  • If you obtained your first degree through a remedial program, you must provide proof of having remedied any missing subjects externally, such as through WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB.

Admissions will not be considered without your transcripts and letters of reference.
